About the Artist

Wylie Bee is a San Diego–based artist and surfer using visual storytelling as a tool for ocean advocacy. After years living in Costa Rica, she returned to Southern California to focus her practice on large-scale paintings and immersive works that confront the realities facing our oceans and demand deeper care for the natural world.

She holds a BFA in Illustration from California State University Long Beach. Her work merges realism and abstraction to explore human impact, ecological imbalance, and our responsibility as stewards of the sea. Drawing from firsthand experience in the water, Wylie creates images that are powerful, immersive, and emotionally grounded—designed to slow viewers down and invite accountability, not just admiration.

Alongside her fine art practice, she has worked in editorial illustration, branding, and design with brands including Nanocraft CBD, MoveU, and Wildcraft Medicine. At the core of her work is a commitment to using art as activism: to protect marine ecosystems, amplify conservation efforts, and reconnect people to the living systems that sustain us.
